This is a 12-year-old single malt whisky produced at the Mortlach distillery in Speyside, which was introduced in 2018 as part of a trio (including a 16-year-old and a 20-year-old). This particular expression is subtitled The Wee Witchie, which comes from the name of the small distillery where some of the whisky is distilled. It comes from bourbon and sherry casks and contains a hearty blend of meaty Mortlach malt at its core, backed by notes of dried fruit and caramel.
Nose: toasted almonds, cinnamon caramel and heavy barley.
Mouth: warming oak and soft raisins with a little olive oil saltiness.
Finish: a little jammy, a little nutty, lingering citrus oils.
