One of three official bottlings Craigellachie released in 2014, their 13-year-old single malt Scotch whisky nicely shows the bold, robust character of the distillery's production. Dynamic fruity notes stretch out in the middle with a distinctive stream of smoke. Craigellachie's single malt whisky hasn't been making much of an appearance outside of independent bottlings of late.
Nose: Blossoming apple orchards, slightly meaty, burnt popcorn, cake with jam.
Taste: Oily malts appear first, followed by grilled pineapple and summer berries. Pine nuts and almonds.
Finish: A very subtle hint of sulphur hides behind notes of biscuits and apples.
