A late 2016 release from the Wolfburn distillery that was matured in a combination of casks - 40% of this whisky was matured in second-fill casks, 40% in first-fill bourbon casks and 20% in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. A very interesting release from the Wolfburn distillery.
Nose: Almonds and pecans with a wave of sweet, sticky Sherry notes.
Taste: Raisins, currants, more mixed nuts and fresh barley.
Finish: Lingering sherry spice on the finish.
