Redbreast whiskey is one of the world's few "pure pot still whiskeys", which means that it is produced exclusively in a batch still. Distilled in Midleton from malted and unmalted barley, the whiskey is then aged in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak sherry oloroso casks, creating a sweet and spicy character.
Nose: nutty and rich. Hints of dried skins and spices, an oily note and chopped fruit.
Taste: spicy with good body. Notes of nuts, citrus fruits and their zest and juice. Traces of marzipan and dried skins, and also a little sherry.
Finish: long and creamy with flavours of custard and spices.
