Turntable's impressive range of music-themed whiskies expands with Bittersweet Symphony.
This highly distinctive malt blend combines Craigellachie whisky matured in PX punch casks (22% blend) and oloroso casks (21%), as well as Blair Athol matured in virgin oak casks (17%) and Balmenach single malt whisky matured in PX punch casks (21%). The grain component comes from the North British Distillery, with 19 % of the blend being single grain whisky matured in virgin oak casks.
Bonus points for a name that brings to mind one of the best songs ever written.
Nose: gingerbread, sticky black fruits, caramel apples, vanilla and dark chocolate.
Mouth: more dried fruits and warming spices, as well as rich malt, caramel, dried herbs and Black Forest cake.
Finish: spicy and sweet.
